201100 - Water-Fit

The City of Bryan’s Water-Fit aquatic fitness class is designed to push anyone, of any fitness level. This four (4) week class meets twice a week at the Bryan Aquatic Center and focuses on aerobic conditioning and toning of the body by using the resistance of the water and a variety of challenging aquatic exercises. Water-Fit is definitely a step up from water aerobics and your body will know it when the work out is over. It’s also a great option for those who are limited by orthopedic issues when it comes to traditional land based fitness programs.

There are two options to register below:

1) You can register at any time for a full 4 week session, with any classes already completed prorated from the fees.

2) You can sign up for classes on an individual day at your choosing.

201101 - Prenatal/Postpartum Water Fitness

The City of Bryan’s Prenatal/Postpartum aquatic fitness class is fun and challenging for expecting and recent moms! You will use the resistance of the water to tone your body and stay in shape during your pregnancy or after when traditional fitness routines may not be an option. As an added bonus the water will also help reduce swelling and you will be weightless in the water (PRICELESS!). This class meets twice (2) a week at the Bryan Aquatic Center.

There are two options to register below:

201401 - Bryan TAAF Swim Team

201500 - Scuba

The City of Bryan is proud to partner with Aggieland Scuba to offer PADI Open Water Diver Scuba courses. The courses will be held in various locations with the pool diving portions of the class at the Bryan Aquatic Center and classroom presentations and exams at Aggieland Scuba.

In this course you will complete 5 knowledge development sections with quizzes and exams, 5 confined water (pool) dives, and 4 open water dives held at various locations around our area. The open water dives will be held a separate weekend from the classroom & pool portions of the course and will be scheduled with the instructor during your class sessions.

In the PADI Open Water Diver course, you learn to use basic scuba gear including a dive computer, and standard accessories. The equipment you wear will be chosen by an Aggieland Scuba Representative to ensure your comfort throughout the course.

Your instructor will contact you the week before the class starts to set up a time to fit you for the equipment used in the class and to get the required reading material.

Prerequisites:
•16 years of age or older (Ages 10-15 must call if interested in registering for the course)
•Some swimming ability is required. You need to have basic swim skills and be able to comfortably maintain yourself in the water. Your PADI Instructor will assess this by having you:
oSwim 200 yards. There is no time limit for this, and you may use any swimming strokes you want.
oFloat and tread water for 10 minutes, again using any methods you want.

Please be sure to review the receipt documents for this course and return them filled out to your instructor on the first day of your class.

Required equipment: Mask, fin, snorkel for scuba diving. Available at Aggieland Scuba.

Adult Swim Lessons provide older teens and adults with positive, developmentally appropriate aquatic learning experiences. Adult Swim Lessons focus on three tracks depending on the participant’s skill level: Learning the Basics, Improving Skills and Swimming Strokes, and Swimming for Fitness.

The purpose of Parent and Child Aquatics is to teach safe behaviors around the water and develop swimming readiness by leading parents and their children in water exploration activities with the objective of having fun and becoming comfortable in, on and around water.
